Brighton s main shopping area is known as the Lanes - narrow winding streets full of small shops selling pretty much anything, from wool and fabrics, jewellery and antiques, ethnic items, perfumes and herbs, all the while the smell of fresh roasting coffee will have you taking frequent breaks at the surrounding tea / coffee gardens, mixing with the locals.
